19th century.  Anonymous.  Oil on canvas.  Showing fisherman in foreground at a bend in the river in wooded area.  Large sloping mountains in the background.  Relined on board.  Likely original frame.  With three repairs in sky.  Cleaned by conservator Mark Wittle in Roanoke, VA and relined on board.  24 ¼” x 29 ¼” s.s., overall 26 ½” x 31 ½”.  Descended in the Browning family from Orange, VA.  Purchased from Gibson Auctions as part of “Bea” Browning estate, Jan. 1, 2016.
